I can't get past the install. airappinstall loads itself repeatedly and gives the message:

"Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe Air…" which I believe I have. I've not experienced this with other Adobe Air applications. The only way to stop stacking repeated airappinstalls is to quite FireFox.

Software:
Adobe Air 1.5.3
MacOS 10.4.11
FireFox 3.5.6

privacy?

Why has no one raised the issue... not even the deloper. The other AIR app featured by DROP behaving in a vexingly creepy way with no documentation whatsoever for use of LSO, and other AIR app generated content (XP)

What information is collected by your AIR app? Does that data live EXCLUSIVELY on user's machine? Short of the content transferred to drop.io itself?

Will data live in other than

%appdata%\adobe\air\*
%appdata%\macromedia\*
drop install location?

thanks

Karl,
Ha, yeah the apps super simplicity tends to get people asking "Where's [FEATURE]". Adding the extra features that allow you to control a drop (admin password, custom name, etc...) take time and take away the simple 2 step process to upload a file: 1.) Choose File 2.) Visit Drop and make it a much more complicated task. This app is not the right fit if you are looking for something to manage custom drops.

Karl,

Super cool, super easy, super useful! Quick question for you, can we add a password or am I just not listening to your statement about how it's supposed to be a quick and easy way to create a drop? Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not complaining, just had to ask!

Thanks for the awesome app!!!

Best Regards,
Joey Goodman aka Joey Buddha

Maybe it's just me (I'm super paranoid about security) but I'm wondering if it communicates to Drop.Io using SSL. (So that our passwords cannot be intercepted.)

Galak,
Yeah, the app was more of a test of the AS3 Drop.io lib I worked on. Droplet is more for doing quick painless drops of files to send to others. Thanks for your thoughts, it's great to hear what the people want.
