Drop.io AS3 Library Update
This entry was posted on Dec 15 2008
UPDATE: I have posted what there is for files on Google Code. The code currently is considered as-is with no support.
So as I mentioned in this post, I have been working on an AS3 library for interfacing with the new Drop.io API. Since my announcement, I’ve been getting some great support from both developers and the Drop.io team. It has been a while and I wanted to let you know I’m still working on the library. I’ve got some free time coming up soon, so I hope to use that time to get something ready for a beta stage.
Keep checking back for more updates! My goal is to have it complete by the end of the year.

Hey man. Are you still working on the Action Script client? I have an upcoming project that would benefit greatly from it. Thanks so much.
Michael,
Unfortunately it got put on the back burner due to some other projects. I can send you what I do have completed to help you get a start. The source would come as is with no documentation. In it’s current state, it would be great to creating or deleting drops, uploading files, or adding or removing items (notes, links, etc…). Some of the features are specific to AIR (DELETE method types).
That’s great Andrew. What about open sourcing it on like GitHub or something? I’d definitely interested in checking it out, and contributing to it. Thanks again.
Hi Andrew,
Shame about putting this project on the backburner, its something which like many people think is ‘a great idea’ until they realize that you have beat them to the punch. I was wondering though I’m currently building an adobe air piece for myself ( imagine life-streaming but with files ) and I have started looking at the api but haven’t gotten anywhere fast, this would be my first project using an api in flash and would really apreciate to see how
you utilized them in your as3 with drop.io’s api if thats ok as i would really appreciate it. Also couldn’t agree more with Micheal Leung getting this on google code or github would be fantastic.
Thanks
Sorry for dragging my feet on this. I’ll make it my personal goal to get the files up by the end of the week. The files will be hosted here: http://code.google.com/p/dropio-as3-library/
